1034 A very smooth journey till we reach Hagen, just 40 minutes from Koln, when we come to a halt and the man on the tannoy makes some very long and important announcement, all in German. I think we are no longer going to Koln, but will have to go somewhere else and get another train from there, but I’m just guessing. Not a word in English. So for sure there goes my connection to Brussels. This seems to happen every time I travel on Deutsche Bahn these days; always something. We’ve been at Hagen for 18 minutes now. Going on the Bahn.de website and copying to Google Translate, there is some emergency on the line to Wuppertal, our next stop, and we are going to have to go via Dusseldorf, and then I expect change trains. What a nightmare.
